Day 1-2: Montreal / Delhi

Depart on your international flight. You’ll arrive in Delhi on day 2 where our local partner will meet you at the airport to transport you to the hotel.

Day 3: Train to Jaipur

Early morning transport to New Delhi’s train station to board a train to Jaipur. Following a 5 hour trip, you’ll arrive in time for lunch and can then use the afternoon to explore the city. Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, was founded in 1728 by Raja Jai Singh II. Explore the Palace of the Winds, the observatory, the City Palace, and the bazars.

Day 4: Jaipur

Discovering the city: Jaipur is known as the “Pink City” due to its orange and pink architecture which gives the city a magical radiance that can also be seen in the colorful clothing the locals wear. Carts pulled by camels and rickshaws in the middle of modern traffic makes the streets of Jaipur a real spectacle.

Day 5: From Jaipur to the agricultural camp (50km)

You’ll begin the cycling portion of the trip by passing through the small and isolated communities of Jaipur with Fort Amber as a backdrop. All instructions will be relayed to you on site, and we will take time to adjust to the bikes. You’ll follow Ramgargh road, a peaceful artery that leads you out of Jaipur. The locals are always intrigued to see foreigners passing through the Indian countryside on bikes. Arriving at Lake Ramgarhm, you’ll have lunch under a large Banyan tree. Continue towards the camp situated in an authentic rural setting with rudimentary dwellings and huge fields of varying crops. Cycling is the best way to explore the villages of India. This itinerary was carefully developed to assure that you’re trip takes you on pleasant roads, away from the main thoroughfares. Take the time to appreciate this unique experience through areas rarely visited or explored by tourists. A minibus and support team will accompany you on this trek. You’re luggage, camping equipment, food, and provisions will be transported on the bus. If you wish to take a break, you can always spend some of your time on the bus or in the team’s Jeep at the head of the convoy. Our guides will pedal with you, while the cooks will prepare your snacks and refreshments which will be served to you during the day. At night, the camp will be set-up and tea will be served. You’ll have plenty of time to wash-up and visit the local village before dinner.

Day 6: Cycle from the agricultural camp to Sariska Park (50km)

You’ll continue your journey by pedaling across the timeless landscape of India, passing by flourishing mustard plantations with overhanging willow trees before reaching the gates of the Sariska tiger reserve. You’ll eat in our camp situated inside the park, which serves as a home for endangered tigers and provides protection from poaching. Many other animals also live here, and the atmosphere of the natural environment makes a visit to this park a not to be missed experience. Camp in the tiger reserve.

Day 7: Cycle towards Rajgarh (38 km) drive to Bharatpur

The trail will bring you through small villages until Rajgarh where you’ll stop for lunch. After another 15km cycle, the bus will bring you to Bharatpur via Mhua. Overnight in camp.

Day 8: Cycle to the Bharatpur bird sanctuary (54km) Drive to Fatehpur Sikri, then Agra

Today you’ll pedal towards the Bharatpur bird sanctuary where you’ll stop for a picnic lunch. Bikes are the ideal means of getting around and exploring this park. The marshy grounds serve as a home to hundreds of different bird species. The 20km trip to Fatehpur Sikri will be aboard the bus. Discover the ephemeral capital of Emperor Akbar before continuing on to Agra.

Day 9: Agra and travel to Delhi

This day is dedicated to vising the city of Agra and its famous fort on the shores of the Yamuna River. But first, early in the morning, you’ll visit the famous Taj Mahal. Built entirely of marble, the magnificent and moving monument is a testimonial of the love of a king overwrought by the loss of his wife. In 1631, Emperor Shah Jahan began the construction in memory of one of his wives, Mumtaz Mahal, the “pearl of the harem”, who died after 17 years of marriage and 14 children. Ove 20,000 laborers, numerous specialists, and artists hailing from as far away as Iran and Europe were hired. After 23 years, the Taj Mahal was finally completed, and the result is a mythical monument, imposing yet graceful, and one of the 7 wonders of the world. Travel to Delhi for return trip to Montreal.
