Funding for cancer research - a great need for a great harm
In 2018 and 2019, 2 persons around me were diagnosed with cancer, experienced particularly difficult times, underwent surgery, endured invasive treatments and so on. The reason for all this is the one we hide from and hope it will never get to us, cancer. It hurt me more than I thought it would to see these two battling cancer.
That was IT, the moment I realized I had to do something. I MUST do my part. For all those who fought, for all those who fight and for all those who will fight. I am very familiar with the CRS and their mission, which I fully support. This is an opportunity for me to give without counting, by investing myself physically for the Challenge, but also in time and energy to collect funds. It's all the little steps in the right direction that make the real change. So $5, $10 and $20 become powerful ammunition when it comes to finding solutions and making breakthroughs in the treatment of cancer. These $ have been used directly to fund research here in Canada since 1945. The CRS is making sure it does !
My mother Andrée Roy and I therefore have the common goal of raising a total of $18,000 together to advance research. We are a tight-knit team that want to see the grip of cancer let go of people around us. I name here Catherine (a friend) and Louise (my mother-in-law), my TEAM OF FIRE, those who had to face cancer in 2018 and 2019, the source of my motivation and who will be in my thoughts throughout this project. I want to honor them and tell them that they are not alone, that people like my mother and I are doing what they can to advance research and ultimately reduce the toll of cancer.
Encourage us, my mom and I, to reach our funding goal. Encourage your loved ones who live or will be living the challenges of cancer. Encourage research and change, no matter how much you are able to donate.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart !
