You’ll continue towards the north side of the Grand Canyon, and the famous Grand Canyon Lodge. Admire the view from the Lodge before walking to Bright Angel Point, one of the most impressive areas of the National Park. We’ll rejoin the North Kaibab trail and descend towards Coconino Overlook for another incredible view. After the hike, we’ll set-up camp. Day 3 - GRAND CANYON NORTH RIM

A unique day and often the most memorable of the expedition. After breakfast, we’ll head for a trail away from the crowds. Our hike will take us along the Grand Canyon, through pine forests, until we reach a breathtaking view. Depending on the group, we can continue further down the canyon. Weather permitting; we’ll eat at the edge of the canyon from another lookout point.

Day 4 - WIDFORSS TRAIL

We retake the Widforss trail which travels the length of the northern side of the Canyon amongst pine-trees and aspens, at an altitude of more than 2500m. Deer, elk, fox, Coyotes, pumas, and even bison regularly graze in these forests and prairies. The vegetation is abundant and diverse, alpine vegetation contrasts with the desert ecosystem that we will discover lower down in the canyon from the southern side. We’ll be treated to another stunning view of the canyon at a location which is full of fossils before retracing our steps and finding our vehicle.

Distance: 8 km or more

Breakfast, lunch and dinner included

Day 5 - SOUTH KAIBAB TRAIL

After breakfast, travel to the “South Rim” of the Grand Canyon. The South Kaibab trail descends along the Cedar Ridge and offers extraordinary views of the canyon and the ridge itself. Renowned, and for good reason, this trail is one of the most photographed in the country! Here we will also have the chance to observe California Condors and the geology of the Canyon in full spectacle! At the end of this day of hiking, camp will be set-up for dinner. Overnight in tents.

Day 6 - GRAND VIEW TRAIL (OR BRIGHT ANGEL TRAIL)

As its name indicates, this trail offers spectacular views of the Canyon from the East and West (on clear days you can see up to 160km away!). The trail has long been used by natives of the Grand Canyon and is now used to access the Last Chance Mine, used when a copper vein was found on the Horseshoe Mesa plateau in 1890. Along with these ancient sites, a number of mining relics are still visible, including Pete Berry’s old cabin. If the group prefers a less difficult trail, the guide can also take you to Bright Angel Trail. After the hike, return to camp for dinner and sleep.

Distance: +/- 10 km.

The Hermit Trail leads to the Waldron basin by rocky outcrops of limestone and sandstone with many fossils to discover. From the high desert valley of Waldron, we’ll continue to Santa Maria Spring.
